Tutors, this workshop is a chance to review the basic principles of phonics. Via a jazzy Power-Point presentation and hands-on materials, you will review many of the sound-symbol relationships of the language. Many of the principles presented are adapted from your very own LITSTART manual, but presented in a way that sheds light on some paradoxes of English spelling and sound systems. Handouts of activities that you can use with your learners as well as reference materials will be provided.
